E-books and downloadable Audio Books
The Hurunui Libraries have joined OverDrive, a service which allows you to download and borrow E-books and Audio Books from the comfort of your own home. Members of the Hurunui District Libraries can access Overdrive through the South Island Downloadable Zone
Currently available are a selection of adult fiction titles and new titles are regularly added.
You will need an internet connected computer or mobile device and software (Adobe Digital Editions for E-books and Overdrive Media Console for Audio Books). The software can be downloaded free by using the links provided on the South Island Downloadable Zone web site.
The web site has a list of compatible devices, please note that Kindles are not currently supported but this is expected to change mid 2012.
To download E-books and Audio Books, select Hurunui Libraries and log in with your Borrower number (you will find this on the back of your library card). There is no charge for borrowing E-books or Audio Books.
