The Cheviot Court House is currently sited behind the A frame building ( Toy Library/old Scout den), Hutchison Street, Cheviot. In October 2014 a public meeting recommended - a committee be formed to investigate the proposals for retaining the Old Court house in Cheviot – sites (current/new), funding of renovation and future maintenance, usage, if buildings separated - process and costs.
The aim of this committee is to investigate the viability of moving the Cheviot Court House from its present site in Hutchison Street to a more suitable site and too, the restoring of the building for future use, while leaving the A frame part of the building and the toilets intact and useable.
