Justices of the Peace
Throughout the District we are fortunate to have several people appointed as Justices of the Peace (JPs). Some of the services they provide include:
the taking of declarations, affidavits or affirmations witnessing documents
- certifying copies of documents
- issuing search warrants
- issuing summonses
The services of a JP in New Zealand are provided free. Your local JP is happy to be of service but the courtesy of making an appointment at a convenient time is always appreciated.
