Road conditions

High rainfall experienced through June, July and August of last year has taken a toll on our roading network creating 'soft spots' that have caused shoving and loss of pavement strength under the road seal.

As a result, uneven and unsafe driving surfaces have appeared on parts of our roading network.

Medbury Road is typically one of those roads, which will require restoration work.

Downer is currently rebuilding the targeted section in need of most work; re-strengthening the pavement layers with a geo-textile and selected AP40 road building aggregate.

 Amberley Beach Road

Despite recent inclement weather, we are making progress on the widening and reshaping of the Amberley Beach Road/Hursley Terrace intersection.

While delays are unavoidable while key infrastructure works are carried out, we do apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your continued patience.

It is important drivers respect the temporary speed limit (30km/hr.) through the road site. Licence plate numbers of drivers ignoring the restriction will be passed onto Police.

One of the  Mobile (Traffic) Signal units was also stolen  last Thursday evening, April 21 2011, which has further impacted on our ability to facilitate traffic movement through the site.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Amberley Police.
